How fabulous you found Sylvia burial and her parents - thanks heaps - still no sign of Ruby Wright (Goodwin) Elliott but thanks to all the help I have some clues to follow - only wish my research skills were better ............... Alison

A good find - I was looking for Emily Burry as according to 1920 death of Sylvia Wright - seems it should be Emily Berry
So I am thinking Emily Berry was married to George Wright and had Sylvia and Ruth then Emily remarried John Goodwin
Does that seem feasible .................. Alison

As already mentioned, Emily GOODWIN is buried at Tyabb Cemetery (Hastings).  I can't see any other family members there and I note that her husband John GOODWIN is described as 'of Woodend' in the Administration of Estate notice.

Hmm.  I admit to being  a bit confused.

Looking at the Estate Letters of Administration 1945 from TROVE:
Emily GOODWIN of Prahran East, is widow of John GOODWIN, saddler of Woodend.
Ruby ELLIOTT of South Yarra is the daughter of Emily GOODWIN.

PROV has mention of
John   GOODWIN, Saddler, of Woodend, died   04 Jul 1939 - so he is the person buried (as shown by Merlin) at Coburg.
Emily    GOODWIN, Widow, of Prahran East, died 08 Sep 1942 (one year different from the Coburg cemetery info and from the Death Index entry.)

So I am now thinking that the Emily GOODWIN buried at Tyabb/Hastings in 1942 is not the right person, especially as the newspaper obit says she was mourned by her husband, when the Emily who is the subject of this thread was a widow in 1939.

Yep, a totally different Emily GOODWIN    She was nee PERRIAM married 1894 to Henry Paul GOODWIN he died in 1951

I found Emily Goodwin death 1941 # on the onlinejustice website - as per the Merlin supplied information

Unfortunately the Letters Of Adminstration are not digitised.

I assume it's just a mistranscription, but it could be misleading.  The newspaper Administration notices, found by Jamjar do not give date of death.
