This certificate will name the number or hopefully the names of children both living and deceased of Annie's previous marriage.  It is possible that Samuel Wm was not born on the date he was told.  His birth was not registered and I wonder if he was actually born prior to the above marriage.  Annie and her first husband did not register any births. 

What happened to her first husband?

The marriage certificate should have the date he died.

From what I have discovered so far

Ann/e Dixon or Dickson married John Scott snr.  Ann Dickson has Anna Bella 1860, David 1865, James Dickson 1861, Martha 1865, Niel 1863.  Ann Dixon has William 1857, John 1857.

John Scott jnr appears to have a first wife Mary Ann Jones who gave birth to Emma 1881, Arthur John 1883, Thomas 1887.  (still have to research this). 

 Abel Kershaw and Eliza Hitchcock married in 1861 in Victoria. They had Abel  1864,  Ellen 1866, Thomas 1868, Samuel 1870, John 1873, Eliza 1874, Margaret Lucy 1876, Maria Jane 1879, Catherine Beatrice 1881, Ann 1861. 

Ann Kershaw and father unknown gave birth to Annie Borella Kershaw 1883.  Annie Kershaw married Albert Borella 1885 in Victoria.  Haven't found record of death of Albert Borella.  Annie Borella marries Jno Scott in Victoria 1891.

John Scott and Ann Kershaw gave birth to Nellie Irene Scott 1894 East Ballarat, Leslie Neil Scott 1896 Ballarat East (died 1/8/1915 WW1 records), Margaret Lucy Scott 1901 Lawler WA (died at 5 months), Walter Charles Scott 1901 Lawler WA (died 5 months), Jack Scott 1903 Lawler WA.

My relative is Samuel William Scott (married Dorothy Weeks 1913 at Black Range WA 1913.  His WW1 records state that he was born in 1892 Ballarat.  Cemetery records show that he may have been born 1892 Sandstone WA.  Have been unable to confirm either.

I have checked all the Rockie cemeteries and he isn't in any under either name.

....he procured a coffin and had the body removed to Bajool, and there reported the matter by telephone to Sergeant Johnson.  He was advised in reply that an order for burial had been received from the Police Magistrate and he buried the body in the Bajool cemetery.....

It was almost seven years between marriages,  so probably reasonable to presume him dead.  I get the impression he disappeared soon after the marriage.  It would be interesting to see how Annie describes herself when she married John SCOTT.

Samuel's marriage certficate will show infomation that he has been given as his birth was not registered. A birth certificate of a younger sibling should show the number and hopefully names of previous issue to the marriage and hopefully the informant was truthful.

I notice in WA you now have the option to purchase an uncertified copy of the registration for $20.
