Wharton
« on: Thursday 07 July 16 15:23 BST (UK) »
Good Afternoon!

Wondering if anyone is researching Whartons of Westmorland and Orton, and Kendall?
I have Lancelot Wharton b 1858 his father was Christopher, and his father was also Lancelot.

Does anyone know the history of the Wharton family in this area?

I know there are quite alot of Whartons in this area,

Look forward to any replies!  Thanks

Have you checked the Surnames Interest Table, here on RootsChat?

Scroll down to the bottom of any RootsChat page.
There you will find, in the dark box and under "Your Tools", "Surname Interests.

Click on that, and then Quick Search, and then the initial letter you want.

While you're there, why not add your own surnae interests? ;D

You can also go to the top of the RChat page, search and type "Wharton", nothing else.

There is quite a bit on them and a mention of a Lancelot going to New York, I think it was.

Hi Jaywar,

thanks for the reply! sorry taken so long to reply to you!

I think my Great Grandfathers father was Lancelot Wharton born 1858/9 son to Christopher.

I have been trying to follow Lancelot , but he has disappeared cant find any record anywhere.
Look forward to hearing from you!
