Now ... A puzzle.
1841 has James and Mary Lindsay with Thomas, Henry and Caroline Watson all in the same household.
James and Mary are old enough to be parents but the marriages have a Thomas' father as Thomas.

I've seen records where James and Thomas have been confused when being transcribed- could that be the case here I wonder?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Me too, Aghadowey but it does say James. As it is 1841 no relationships are shown.

I hope it is the right person- I thought I should wait now  :)

Just checked 1851 and James and Mary are there  :-\

Hello all
Sorry, I have been unwell.
So are we saying that the Thomas who married Eliza Blackburn, married Caroline Watson originally and then married again?
Interestingly, Blackburn is my other line in this area!!! And just to confuse matters more, I have a Thomas Julias Pampe Blackburn (any ideas on that name greatly appreciated because they are very unusual middle names!!), who is my third great grandfather, who marred Eliza Watson!!!!!  All strangely coincidental, or did the families know each other?
I have Thomas and Caroline living in the Farringdon without and Westminster area.  I do have their marriage and Thomas is a taylor.
Their daughter, Jane is my second great grandmother and she was christened in St Andrews, Holborn in 1843.  She is their oldest daughter.
So, should I be looking in the irish records for Thomas?  And we now think the Kingstown one is too far away from Meath?

I cannot see this entry, whereabouts were they living?

WoW!
Thanks.  I have found that census record now and as Thomas is a Tailor it makes this a very real possibility as his father, James is a Tailer.
My only problem here is that on the marriage certificate Thomas lists his father as Thomas, also a Tailor!
I am not great at understanding the geography so I have no idea how to match up my Thomas to the Catholic records.

Religion not known.  Thomas and Caroline were married in the parish church in Holborn

Teresa,
Is this your ancestor in St Brides, London

1871  424/16/26

Thomas Lindsay 49 yrs born Newcastle, Co Meath
With a son and daughter

It is very feint but has been transcribed as that.

1881 shows Oldcastle, Ireland and with that in mind, 1871 looks more like Oldcastle, Meath.

Heywood
I think this is him!!  What is even more amazing for me is that he lived next door to my widowed third great grandmother, Eliza Blackburn, who he then married in 1871!  Cannot trace his death as yet, but it is an interesting story we are building here.  Just cant place his birth yet.  Are the protestant records for Ireland available?

I can't see anything helpful for the time you need. :(

Perhaps someone with more knowledge will be able to help.
Good luck.
