It is strange that the birth date is different on the 1939 Register but someone else may have answered the question of her birth date or the enumerator made a mistake.

I can understand her adding 5 years to her age when she married a man who was considerably older than her.   My own grandmother went the other way and took 5 years off her age each time she married!!   Re her mother's surname on the birth cert Maria married as Sanders.   As she couldn't read I suppose her mother couldn't either so it's all in the pronunciation
