Hello
John Adams, junr., of Selby is mentioned in the attached notice of April 1841.
John Adams, Selby is a contact when the Tannery lately occupied by Mrs Hood at Gowthorpe, Selby is advertised in 1865.
Re: The Selby Parish (transcriptions up to 1812) list a John Green baptism in May 1793, to Richard and Dinah, dau of John Wait. The parents/descent being linked to Carleton, Brayton and Cawood.
Re: death of a John Adams ... "On Wednesday week, Mr. John Adams, of Selby, aged 80." his death appears in a Yorks newspaper and the Lincolnshire Chronicle of 1850, "Lincoln 22 Mar.", suggesting a link to Lincolnshire, for Adams.
Selby Parish transcriptions - John Adams baptised, son of John, a Wheelwright in January 1799, so the death notice at 80 years refers to another John Adams.
The April 1796 baptism of Mary Adams to John (a Joiner) & Mary of Selby, the descent gives John Adams a Wheelwright of Sykehouse and Mary his wife dau of Robert Coulthird, Wheelwright of Sykehouse. Mary [Adams] is the dau. of John Jackson of Snaith etc ...
Re John Newby of Pollington, in one Annual Monitor of Society of Friends (Quaker) Obituaries, a J. Newby coincidentally writes the forward.
Re George Berridge little is known. Going backward in my Selby Parish transcriptions (from 1812), I have to go back to 1620, to find just one Berridge.
Because, they rubbing shoulders with George Hood at Selby, is there any more information, please?
Thank you.
Kind regards, Mark
