There is a possible death for Walter Brown Marshall on Scotlands People in Hamilton Lanark 1937 which could be him ....so don't think he was killed in action
Possible marriage for Catherine Marshall 1939 Hamilton Lanark might be worth looking at

Rosey hopefully u will see this message....

I've had a right good look online but cant really get any information on the Heaneys of Ballymoney except what you have given me - I really want to establish back the way what caused them to leave ireland for scotland.

All i have is as far back as Hugh Heaney and Martha Peacock

There just appears to be nothing listed for Hugh at all and although i have the names of marthas parents again thats all.

People in this area of Ireland constantly travelled back and forth between Ireland and Scotland looking for work, visiting relatives, etc. It's quite possible there is no more information to be found online. Hugh Heaney died before the registration of deaths began , church records probably don't go back far enough and it's likely that his widow didn't have money to erect a gravestone.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Following on from this original thread I'm looking for some more help.

I have a really strange problem with my family in that most of them couldn't spell their own name - The variations are driving me mad!!

Samual McCallum who married Phylis had a brother called Archibald Mccallum. I've been trying to search his side of the family with mixed results.

1891 - Living in Hamilton, Lanarkshire with his mother listed as unmarried
1901 - Living in Hamilton with Mother and stepbrother aged 37
1930 - Death of his wife Rose McCallum (Devine)

Whats strange is the death cert for Rose confirms she is Archibalds wife however I can find no trace of a marriage for them on Scotlands People. Her parents are listed on the death cert as Joseph Devine and Margaret Beckett but nothing on either of these re marriage or death.

Archibald himself died 1951 but I have been unable to establish if him and Rose had any children. As he died in Hamilton I'm assuming they spent most of their life there.

Also on a side note Samuel remarried after Phylis died topp a lady called Margaret McPhail. They had 3 children born:

1903 - Archibald who married Elizabethg Mcmorris - Nothing else known about them - no deaths etc
1905 - Christina Whiteman McCollum - Again no further information - No deatsh or marriages on scotland speople.
1906 - Margaret Mccollum - died 1908, Hamilton.

Can anyone help ?

Thank You
