Conlan gertrude
« on: Tuesday 19 July 16 13:18 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone,

I've  only just joined this site and don't  have much info to go on, but am looking for my Grandma's family.

She was Gertrude Conlan, last trace of her was in 1911 census, as a servant in  Brachnagh , Kings Co, now known as Co Offlay.
I can't find birth certificate so can not go further, by tracing her parents, ANY help would be most appreciated,
Thank you .

Welcome to Rootschat but you've posted on Ireland Resources board which is for resources not queries. Just click on 'report to moderator' and ask for the topic to be moved to Kings/Offaly board where it is more likely to get replies.

Getrude Conlan (as transcribed) is in 1911 census as a servant in Clonmore-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hello and welcome.
On another thread you have put a bit more information which might be helpful.

Hello I'm new to this too and do not know where to begin,
My Grandma was Gertrude CONLAN, but apart from finding her at the age of 16, in kingsCo, ( now Co Offlay), I can not trace her birth or parentage, I seem to recall her Mother being Alice and I know there was a James and a Patrick,
Just wondered if there was a link to my CONLAN  and yours??

Many thanks Jackie.

I have posted it here to see if it helps - especially when the thread is moved to the Kings/Offaly biard.
Regards
Heywood

Did Gertrude marry?
If so, do you have details of that - her father's name from the certificate would help.

As you are from Gertrude's line do you have any siblings names?
In the 1911 census there are 2 Gertrude Conlan.
One in Dublin born in Kildare and the other one from Offaly.
There are 9 Gertrude Conlan's born up to 1900.
