dathai wanted to give these links earlier but they wouldn't work.

Margaret Sullivan
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FYD8-P4M

Margaret Donovan
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FYDD-P43

As they are all on the same page this may show that Margaret was a widow.

That's what we thought in replies 7 and 8.
It would be good to have those marriage details.

I wonder if B J's army record shows any other details.

I think it has been posted somewhere that he was discharged 1912.
Then someone has posted a death in 1913 for BJ.

However, kwickme says that Joseph married 1919 and had a child the year after.

It's just too weird that two English men, with the same Surname, same occupation of Groom, same age give or take a year would marry two woman called Margaret in the same city on the same day in Ireland.

There has to be a connection.

Hi kwickme

If he was still alive in the 1950's he should appear on the 1939 register.

The 1919 marriage that you refer to should confirm that you have the right Joseph as it would give fathers name.

I agree. However, he was, according to discharge, in the Army until 1912.
You mentioned that he would be in barracks not a house  :-\

Kwickme,
Initially you said you have discovered that your uncle was alive until the 1950s and not dead as previously thought in WW1.
The 1913 death fits in that time frame.
Is the source of your 1950s death a reliable source?

There is a lot of searching going on here trying to clarify matters - come back please  :)

Men usually (possibly had to) served in the Army Reserve after the regular Army, if he was at that stage he wouldn't be on a barracks form. Quite possible with a 1912 discharge, would also fit with a 1908 marriage.
Just finished in regular Army get married do 4 years in Reserve, discharge 1912.
Quite common for men to marry just as the finished up in the Army, that way they didn't have to get permission to marry.
