You're close.
The furthest back I can go is to Buckhaven in the mid 1700's.
MY Dad (born in Cults) came to Perth and joined the Black Watch in the late 30's.
He met my mum and the rest, as they say, etc...

Hi jeanie,
Greyfriars Burying Ground is rectangular in shape, isn't very big and you cannae get lost.
If you come in the main entrance off Canal Street directly ahead is the central path.
Head up the path to almost the south wall and there is your headstone.

A stop at Greyfriars will be definitely happeniing for a famiily photo with the matriarch - incredible to think if it wasn't for her we wouldn't be here  :o
I would like to add for anyone else reading this post that I emailed the records office (same time I posted on rootschat) and they said there was nothing in the books  ???
Hi Jeanie,

Home now - sad to say we didn't get to Perth - thanks for your help as it wonderful to have the photo. I loved Edinburgh and hope to return to Scotland to explore further - hopefully in the summer  8)
