« on: Tuesday 26 July 16 14:13 BST (UK) »
There are two records in Cambridgeshire Burials

1942 January 6th     Edith Ellen Hollers 72   living 11 Pepys Terrace Impington Cambs

1942 February 24th  Edward Hollers  66   living 11 Pepys Terrace Impington Cambs

I can't find any other record of them anywhere...... birth, marriage, children ???

Can anyone find them?

I think it's a mistranscription of HOLLEY.

Edward HOLLEY is listed on the National Probate Calendar as of Pepys Terrace Impington.

Edward Holley married Edith E Beeton, Jun qtr 1915 Cambridge.

They'd both be in their 40s when they married, possibly second marriage for one or both.

Looking a bit further, I think they were both single at marriage. Edward was in Royal marines and was awarded Silver War Badge.

It doesn't look as though Edward had a previous marriage; he was a bachelor ("40") on marrying Edith.

He was born in December 1875 in Welborne, Norfolk and served in the Royal Marines - on HMS Princess Royal at the time of his marriage.  Father: James, a labourer.

Edith Ellen Beeton hadn't been married before, either - she was a spinster ("44") on marriage to Edward.

She was born in Great Wilbraham, Cambs in October 1869.  Father: John (deceased by the time she married), a labourer; mother Elizabeth.

Thank you everyone..... just got in and found all this info. Interestingly, a George H Beeton (1886) was living with his family at No 6 Pepys Terrace at this time.
Although George was born in Waterbeach his Dad, also George 1848, was born in Wilbraham. (1881 census) Maybe a link.

The records office in Cambridge had their name as HOLLERS, ( and FindMyPast) so it's interesting that FreeBMD has Holley.

Thanks again

Bob
