Charles Michael ROSE Born 1891 and Married 1919 at Farnham Surrey
« on: Wednesday 27 July 16 07:14 BST (UK) »
I am hoping to avoid buying Two Certificates.
I believe the Charles Michael ROSE born in the 4th Quarter of 1891 at Farnham Surrey married Blanche B BATEMAN in the 3rd Quarter of 1919 again at Farnham Surrey.
Please could anyone help me with the names of the parents at both of these events?

Did Charles's wife Blanche die in 1931 and  Charles marry poss sister Beatrice M Bateman in 1933 in Aldershot.   If you check the 1939 Register I think you will find Charles and second wife giving his birth date - we can't do lookups of the Register

If the marriage cert in 1919 lists his father and his occupation you might well be able to confirm the right family without a birth cert

With the regimental connecton I noticed this family in 1891 is living at South Camp Aldershot which might be of use in the future

James Rose 41 Warrent Officer Army Service Corps   b Middlesex
Mary Rose    31 b Ireland
James Rose 8
Henry Rose 6
Florence Rose 1  Devonport

In 1901 I think Florence from the family above is visiting a couple living at  Swallowfield, Berkshire. Florence's siblings include a Charles??
James Saseltine    62
Mary Saseltine    68
Ellen Finnemore    26  Visitor b Aldershot
Florrie Rose 10 Visitor  b Devonport
Charles Rose  8 Visitor b Aldershot
Annie Rose 6 Visitor b Aldershot

Edit - James Rose's army record is on F M P and confirms he had children Henry Thomas 1884, James William 1887 (the birth dates of Henry and James were crossed out and may have been mixed up), Florence Bridget 1889,  Charles Michael 8/9/1891and Annie Rose 1894 and his wife was Mary Bridget Murphy

Thanks for opening the door to the Rose family for me.
I am very very grateful.

Just returned from a fruitless visit to Gloucester Family History Society.

Not having Find My Past I went this route.  Could you please help me find the correct James Rose from the many listed and how to get the GRO Regimental Birth Indices.
Sorry to be a nuisance.
Again thank you

Hi Norman

The GRO Regimental Birth Indices are on F M P as well.   I presume Charles's birth was registered under both the usual GRO index and the Regimental one

It took a while to find James's record and if you send me a pm with your email address I will refind it and send you a copy.  Never a nuisance  :)
