Emil Carl Marcus JÜRGENS (unknown birth or death dates, born and died in Hamburg Germany) married Augusta Helena Henriette RATHJEN (1866-1941) at an unknown date. (Her parents were Peter Nicholaus RATHJEN (1824-1872) and Margaretha ROTHGARN (1835-1879) Augusta died 6 Oct 1941 (age 75) at Herderstr. 81 III; Hamburg-Wandsbek.
This couple had one child Emil Adolf Hermann JÜRGENS (born 1897- unknown death).

I have also since discovered that Emil Jurgens had become the head of the Wandsbek General Hospital according to Augusta's 1941 Death Certificate. And that she was living at Bürgerweide 22 Haus 6 when she died (her Death Certificate Nr 830 332-5_4594).

The marriage of Auguste (b. 8 May 1866) to Emil Carl Marcus Tauwald (b. 9 June 1863), son of the unmarried Margarethe Jürgens, took place on 15th April 1887. A note written in the margin of the marriage certificate in 1893 records that Emil's surname should correctly read Jürgens. Both Emil and Auguste had signed the cert using the surname Tauwald.

By the time of the marriage, Margarethe was married to a man with the surname Lange, who was a Posamentier = someone who made lace-work embellishments and trimmings for clothing - I think.

A weaver (Weber) by the name of Friedrich Lange was a witness at the wedding.

The following Tauwald children were registered:
Frida Caroline Meta T., b. 3rd May 1887 Altona, died on 22 Dec 1890
Adolph Paul Emil T., b. 5 May 1890 Altona, d. 21 May 1890
Auguste Marie T., b. 5 August 1891 St. Pauli, Hamburg

Emil died on 16 January 1928 at 6pm in the State Carehome.

I also have a note of a fourth child, Emil Carl Marcus Tauwald geb 20 Aug 1891 at Altona, died 1965 at Altona. No further info at this time.
