Looks like Ann had a child before marriage he's with his grandparents in 1861...

The Alexander Greig (tailor) who was apprenticed to Robert Wallace in Logie Pert is back with his family in 1851 all born Marykirk.

As both David and Ann lived past 1855 did either of their children sign the death certificates?

Hi jennywren001
Thank you for your interest.
I knew about Ann Wallace's illegitimate son but he died in his grandparent's house at the age of only 6.
For your information, David Wallace's death in 1874 was registered by a neighbour whereas Ann Greig's death in 1884 was registered by her son-in-law, my great grandfather. What does this tell us?

Maybe Ann was too distraught at the time of his death to go register the event? Having read your other post about Ann Greig I know her parents were not listed on her DC - were David's parents listed on his DC?

Hi jennywren001
Yes, David's parents are named on his death certificate as Alexander Wallace and Ann Ross.
You should know that the Wallace and Rae families are buried in Rosehill Cemetery (Old & New), Montrose but unfortunately the bottom half of the Wallace gravestone is severely damaged. In DeceasedOnline there are couple of possible burials for Alexander Wallace Junr (1863 & 1871)

Hi All
Sadly, neither of the two Alexander Wallace's buried in the Old Rosehill Cemetery, Montrose in 1863 and 1871 are who I am looking for. I checked on Scotland's People.
I now think that since both his sisters, Mary and Ann went to live in Aberdeen, there is a chance that he did also.

I have a new query under the above topic.
Since my earlier thread in 2016, I have discovered that on the rear of David Wallace’s family gravestone in Rosehill Cemetery, Montrose, it states that "Also of his daughter Elizabeth Wallace who died 9 January 1894 aged 64".
I would love to find out more about Elizabeth if I can. For example where she died; who, where and when she married etc.
Can anybody please help me?
From the inscription, she was obviously born in 1830 and probably in Maryton by Montrose.
Please note that I have been unable to find a record of Elizabeth’s death in ScotlandsPeople which may mean she died abroad or in England.
Regards
