On granthammatters on the Grantham Past section there are a lot of photo's of the buildings etc PLUS a lot of the background to the site which was opened 1916 as a RFC training aerodrome providing a home for assorted planes including de Havilland,DH Marques and Sopwith Camels it was moth-balled between wars and reopened in 1942 as a 'satellite field'and relief landing ground for a flying training squadron that was based at RAF Spittlegate.
