Edward O'Flynn born 1655
« on: Monday 01 August 16 03:41 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any or all information Edward O'Flynn born 1655 Kerry County, Ireland. His daughter was Honora O'Flynn who was as family lore says was stolen from the coast and transported to the US to be wed to a Maryland Planter. I have read he was a Chief of his Clan, but I can not find anything on him other than his birthdate and death date. Thank you for your help.

This 1659 Census of Kerry has 9 O'Flyne families in the Barony of Trughanac(Trughanacmy)

Everything else I found points to the O'Flynns being more numerous in Cork and Waterford rather than Kerry.

Lot of speculation online about Edward but no proof he even existed, and it's very unlikely anyone can ever prove he did. As a rule of thumb personal records in Ireland go back to 1800ish, late 1700s if your very very lucky.
