Miles family if Llannelly near Abergavenny

I am now looking for his mother Ann Miles and her mother Elizabeth Miles.

Having found them in the 1841 census, I am struggling to find any other reference to Elizabeth Miles before or after. What was her maiden name and where did she come from.

I am also puzzled by an entry on the 1841 census for Mary Miles aged 18 who lives with the family. How is she related to Ann and Elizabeth?

From you other post it looks as though Elizabeths husband James has remarried as a widower in 1846

On 1851 A*try- take a look at Mays Ane GADES b1822 born Blokery, Gloucestershire.

The image says Mary Ann MILES.

Mary Ann JAMES spinster (father Adam JAMES -note that Ann MILES is with the JAMES family in 1851) marries James MILES widower occ:Patten maker father William MILES occ:Patten maker Oct.3 1846 Llanelli Breconshire.
....

With Mary Ann in 1851 is a Richard MILES born 1834 Llauley(sic), Breconshire, Wales.

In 1841 there's a James MILES age 38 with wife Elizabeth(30) son Richard age 8 and daughter Anne born 1839 Llanelly Crickhowell.

There is a marriage for a James Miles occ Patten Maker & Elizabeth Davis in Bedwelty 21st July 1832
James was a bachelor, Elizabeth a spinster

I have also found banns for a James Miles (widower) and Elizabeth Hobbs (spinster) on the same page as the banns of marriage for Joseph Aston and Ann Miles. Both marriages seem to be in Cinderford (near the Aston family home in Blakeney) rather than in Breconshire or Monmouthshire.

Interesting. I will need to dig deeper into your find and mine.
