JOHN KILLALEA DEATH 1852
« on: Sunday 07 August 16 21:59 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the death of a John Kilallea before 1855.  I have found one in Kiltormer June1852 from Ireland Landed Estate Court Files.  It has a document and volume number.  Does this mean there will be a death certificate and if so, where could I get a copy

I already explained on one of your numerous Killalea threads that registration of deaths didn't begin until 1864.

which Shane explained a few years earlier-

You did but I thought that because this had reference numbers it must show a record somewhere

There cannot be a civil record as they didn't exist

The reference may be for the land registry or transfer rather than specifically his death
Wherever you have found the reference, look at the description of what is held and where it was sourced; the document and reference should then be obtainable

Kearney & Bourke/ Johns & Fox/ Mannion & Finan/ Donohoe & Curley
Byrne [Carthy], Keeffe/ Germaine, Butler/ McDermott, Giblin/ Lally, Dolan
Toole, Doran; Dowling, Grogan/ Reilly, Burke; Warren, Kidd [Lawless]/ Smith, Scally; Mangan, Rodgers/ Fahy, Calday; Staunton, Miller
Further generations:
Brophy Coleman Eathorn(e) Fahy Fitzpatrick Geraghty Haverty Keane Keogh Nowlan Rowe Walder

I think these are the indexes that used to be (free) on Family Search. There's at least one previous topic about them on Rootschat (just google "Landed Estate Court Files & rootschat). Here's one topic which explains it is not a probate record-
