Look up request - parents of Ann Goat, ?North Walsingham

Hi there
I'm looking for the parents of an Ann (aka Anne) Goat born in Norfolk in 1712. It's quite an unusual name so that might help. Sometimes it has been transcribed as Goate or Coate.

Her son's memoir (written in Scotland much later - 1820) lists her as being from North Walsingham not far from Lingwood. I can't find a North Walsingham anywhere so perhaps he mis-remembered North Walsham?

She married John Church in (I think) St Michael at Plea Church, Norwich, Norfolk on 26/03/1730. He was a farmer at Lingwood and she came with a decent dowry, so I'm guessing a farming family too. They moved to Scotland in the 1760s.

Appreciate any ideas as I don't know Norfolk at all.

It could refer to Great (or Old) Walsingham?
Which is slightly to the north of the (now) much larger Little (or New) Walsingham.

Here is their marriage at Norwich (bottom right hand corner) it says that Anne was from Beyton.
This could be Beighton that is near Lingwood.

Thanks Yokel and KGarrad - I only saw a transcription of the marriage, not an image, so didn't know that.

Beighton does look very possible - both Great Walsingham and North Walsham seem a little bit far away.

I wonder where he got N Walsingham from, then? Perhaps it was the name of a farm or house.

Sorry - I see it now. Where does is show the names of the witnesses? Do you have the next page?

I wonder why they got married in Norwich and not in Beyton / Beighton - it looks like there was a functioning church there at the time.
