Help to find three obituaries (Wisconsin)
« on: Thursday 11 August 16 16:04 BST (UK) »
Hi
Out of the 7 children of David and Eliza McLarty of Columbus, Wisconsin, I have managed to obtain 4 obituaries, but struggling with the last 3 and hoping for some help please to complete the set.

1. Malcolm McLarty b.May 1869 death 1930 (was alive for 1930 US Census in Columbus) Buried in Saint Jerome Cemetery.  Year of death only on gravestone, not day or month!

2. Jeanette Skelly Date of death 16th January 1954 in Janesville, Wisconsin.

3. Mary Gormley resident in Milwaukee - Looking for date of death and then can try and find obituary.   Mary died between 1951 and 1976 and was born in 1872.

Thank you

There is a Mary Gormley who died 1953 listed here - http://www.cemeteries.org/Genealogy-Search.htm  Could that be her?

Yes I think that is the Mary I am looking for and her husband is also listed (James H Gormley), so bonus!!

Jeanette was indeed Mrs Edmund Skelly!

Many thanks

Tom

2. Jeanette Skelly Date of death 16th January 1954 in Janesville, Wisconsin.

Thank you

I think the DOD you have is actually the date of burial. It appears she died 14, Jan. 1954.

If nothing pans out for Malcolm, you might want to contact the cemetery to see if they can give you a date of death.  The Columbus library says it will do limited genealogical research for no charge.  http://www.columbuspubliclibrary.info/genealogy-and-local-history  So, with an exact date of death, they may be able to do an obituary look-up for him.
