martha looks like she married a simmons in 1864 in Wolverhampton so were both bigamists
kath

Well the Martha Mallen 24 who married a William Simmonds shows as a Spinster Father Edward Mallen?

EDIT This looks indeed to be Martha as in 1871 as Simmons there is a Rose Simmons 11 b Staffordshire with new siblings
Census ref RG10/4242/114/22

Rosannah Simmonds 21 b Bilston in 1881 Census
RG11/4001/49/92

I hope you don't mind, but their was so much more information you could have provided us to cut all this searching out?

As I wrote earlier, there are several Joseph Mallens - with variations in spelling of the surname.

Presumably, the one who married Holy Davies is the right one and his father was Daniel and Eliza is the daughter of Joseph and Holy.

Is that right so far?

Oh - and now Martha Mallen Simmons is not correct - or not part of this?

Hi again, so if Rosannah is the child of Joseph and Martha, why was no fathers name shown at her marriage?
