Looking for birth date of Sheila Gale in India to British parents in 1924

    At this point I haven't a clue what was put down. That would be an interesting read though!!! She was very prim and proper and matter of fact, not one to mince words or talk to rif raf, very old school, this is only what I heard.

Do you know if she worked as a radiographer and had a London NW1 address in the late 50's?

There's a Sheila E G Gale at 32 Wallace Court London NW1 (Marylebone) on the electoral rolls (1953-58),that is the same address as I found the above lady on a passenger list dated 13th Feb 1958 from Southampton to New York.

She gives her DOB as 14th Jan 1924.

It was to help the U.S. set up the machines, Sheila and one other lady were sent there to do this. So finally this mystery is solved, thank you so much. I still have the Library getting back to me, double checking the dates doesn't hurt.

I have since found her return to the UK in 1960- the image there gives her birth date as 14th Jan 1934 but I think that was a typing error!

Im pretty sure the first date of birth is more than likely correct. I believe she travelled quite extensively, especially to Egypt. This early trip to NY must have set off her wings.

Oh she was definitely born in 1924 she is in the Overseas births for that year,so when she was in her late 30's she thought the date was 14th Jan. I believe Dawnsh has offered to look the indexes up for you.
