Looks like Glassford comes in from Alexander family. Wonder if Sheila's brother Alan's family have more family details?

     It  was spelt wrong in the notice.  Glassford is a family name, Sheila's Great Grandmother's maiden name before marriage. No-one in the family knows, I only discovered the year of birth today searching the Internet. My second mum will be going to the UK in about 3 weeks, so I am hoping to find a bit more for her to research while she's there.

There is a divorce (1909) of a Marion Glassford Gale (nee Marion Glassford Roberts) from William Tyers Gale.

    It doesn't ring a bell, but that middle name wouldn't be a common choice!!

Marion Glassford Gale was played by Diana Quick in the TV mini-series "Dandelion Dead" in 1994 (about the murderer Herbert Rowse Armstrong).
