Charles Hack
« on: Tuesday 16 August 16 14:48 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find information about Charles Hack born 1816. He may have come from Pill Somerset.
He married in 1835 but died in 1845.
His wife Sarah Adams was born in Pill Somerset at the time.
Trying to find out who his parents were.

Does anyone know of any Hacks that came over from Germany to Bristol or Somerset or of course London?

Where is he in the 1841 census - does it say if he was born in that county?

Thanks for the reply.
I do have details of him in 1841 census but can't find anything about his father and mother for certain. There is talk from his descendant (my cousin) that they have German blood and there are several Hack names in Germany, hence trying to find where Charles parents and grandparents are.

Ok, looks like the Hacks liked christening their Children close together :D

BAPTISMS;
St Paul, Walton in Gordano
JAMES, 10 Feb 1782**********
RICHARD, 10 May 1782
JACOB, 17 July 1785, only Fathers name James
CHARLES, 1 Feb 1790 (birth 26 June 1788)
BETTEY, 6 Jan 1792
WILLIAM, 27 July 1794
All except Jacob have Parents as JAMES/BETTEY Hack
(Source FreeREG)

MARRIAGE;
James HACK to Betty BLACKMORE, 7 May 1777 St Paul
(Source FreeREG)

All looks good as in 1861 Census CHARLES Hack c 1791 and Brother RICHARD Hack c 1776 are together in Walton.

EDIT On FreeREG 1st Hack Baptism in Walton is 1751, 1st Marriage 1777, 1st Burial 1750

There are not a large amount of entries, so may not be many or they are not all transcribed yet.
So the Hacks may originated from elsewhere in Somerset or England.
