Family Tree Maker 2014(How Do I)
« on: Thursday 18 August 16 13:01 BST (UK) »
I am faced with how to enter the following.
I have a male who marries in 1917 and dies in 1924. His widow then later on marries this persons brothers sisters widower. How do I enter all this into the tree?. The wife of the first marriage has a different name when she marries her brother in law. Do I use her first maiden name?

NormanE,

Ladies should always go under maiden name..but in this case I would say Mary Smith~Brown/Green

I use different FH software but I expect the principle's the same - I'd enter the marriage in exactly the same way as I would to any other existing entry in the database
