Over parish
« on: Thursday 18 August 16 16:06 BST (UK) »
my ancestors came from the parish Over. I found my 4th great grandfather Alexander Gifford and i'm looking for his future wife Elizabeth Disbrow. I found this entry = Jul 7 1760 DISBROW Elizabeth [BT Mary] dau of John & Elizabeth.Do anyone know why it says Elizabeth but the Bishop's Transcripts say Mary.

Either the vicar made a mistake when writing up the BT, or else he realised that he'd made a mistake when entering the baptism in the PR and corrected it in the BT. Doesn't help you in deciding whether the PR or the BT is the right one.
