Long Eaton 1875 onwards
« on: Saturday 23 July 05 01:54 BST (UK) »
Do you have any information about John Comery and Mary Spowage in Long Eaton from 1875 onwards. They had 10 children one of them was John Walter Comery who married Maud Alice Ellen Smith at Castle Donnington Baptist Chapel in Mar 1892. He was in the lace trade and had Oakleas Mill in Long Eaton which his sons ran until the 1960s. The family home was Elerslie on Nottingham Road which is now the Half Crown Pub, near the old greyhound stadium.

Any info on this family would be great or any info on lace, Long Eaton, Castle Donington Baptists etc. I have the names and dates but I am trying to fill in the lives of the family. John Walter was active in the council and active in the building/opening of the swimming baths round about 1900-1920.
