Glackin/Leckie
« on: Friday 19 August 16 11:32 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find out more about my great grandmother Annie Mckernan ( nee Glackin/Leckie). Annie was born around 1851 and married James McKernan in 1876. Annie lived in Ballyhatty, in the parish of Drumragh, Omagh,Co. Tyrone. They had 11 children and came over to Glasgow around 1900.
There is a mystery surrounding Annie. On her gravestone her maiden name is recorded as Leckie yet on her death certificate her maiden name is given as Glackin.
Both these names appear on her children's birth certificates. The names seem to be interchangeable. If anyone can shed any light on either names it would be appreciated.

Another thing one can try is looking for any Pension Applications

one can try Scotland or even cities just by entering whatever in Applicant's present address

you get all Surnames for that location and might spot one or more of yours

One needs to be inventive!
