Possible sibling of Robert?

Thanks Jen

Now I'm wondering if the John Hood buried at the Ballast Hills Cemetery is John Hood (father to Geo Hood at Gateshead 1st October 1786).

With the exception of Quakers and I think Jews, Non-conformists at this time had to marry in C of E / Anglican Church often with an Allegation / Bond.

Someone has said to me, that some N-C only baptised their children to qualify for a cheaper burial at their local Church graveyard and save transporting the body elsewhere, if they should die as children, or minors.

Regards Mark

From reading the threads re the burial of George Hood and a possible Non Conformist burial taking place - the Jane Hood that married Rev Robert Stodhart may be worth looking into further.

A Rev. Robert Stodhart was a Methodist New Connexion minister. Born 1779-1846

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
