Carol,

That's an excellent photo with so much detail & so much more with the extra info. in the background to help with location.

Photos like that are brilliant & transport (no pun intended) us back in time where we can visualise how our ancestors lived/travelled etc.

When I do Family Tree Reports I add docs. (BMD's/Census), newspaper clips & pics (where available) etc. so it reads like a "story book" rather than just names & dates but that photo gives so much info. in itself.

Hi Annie...Yes I agree with you...these old images give us a sense of social history that helps us to understand the way of life in a given time and place.
Like you..I add newspaper cuttings and images relevant to the era of the person to add colour to their lives and it makes it so much more meaningful.
I wonder what was in the barrel  ;D ;D ;D
Glad you like it.

Good evening,

Looks like a sunday school outing or similar so my guess would be lemonade or ginger pop. Both still I hope otherwise when they open the tap the spray will wash the horses a***.

Hi John...Ginger Beer is a good call....I'm sure these children were on a privileged outing given the era and their mode of dress  ;D ;D
Thanks for your interest...a lovely photo of times gone by..if only we could go back in time...just for a day...no social media, mobile phones or big screen TVs...oh for the days of telephone communication,  letter writing,  and face to face conversation...now consigned to history  ::) ;D ;D ;D
I am beginning to sound like my Mother...god rest her soul  ::)
