I honestly can't remember how I found her maiden name. It wasn't on any of the birth certificates.

I don't think there is any alternative but to get one of the children's birth certificates - for a child with a less common christian name.

If the mother is Mary Jones -- then it will be a case of obtaining the 1840 marriage cert to obtain fathers names.

With such common surnames it will be really difficult to find correct baptiisms and there will be a better chance armed with fathers names.

The entire family seems to have married someone with a common surname and given their kids equally common Christian names! It's a nightmare!

This looks like the family in 1861 RG9/4111 f79 p23 - Llanelly  - poss marriage Sept qtr 1840 Carmarthen reg district which covers Llandefeilog

It is the right family. The last three kids were born in Llanelly. Just seeing where they were in the years you mentioned. Thanks so much for spending your time on this!!!

In 1851, the family lived in Cloygin, Camarthenshire. Their surname was spelt Lewies in that census.
