FindMyPast subs -- any offers / vouchers ?
« on: Wednesday 24 August 16 21:50 BST (UK) »
Have just gone to look something up on FindMyPast -- to find my subscription expired a couple of days ago :(

Before I go paying full price, anyone know of any vouchers or offers for annual subscriptions?

I changed from ancestry to find my past wish I had not don't like it very much wont be resigining up on it and I think its a cheek because if you don't renew your subscription its says you cant see any of the information you have saved
so if you require something specific I could look it it up for u

Hi I use both sites, but I can assure you the majority of the work I have carried out on RC has been from FindMyPast, especially census, non London Births/Marriages/Deaths, where in your opinion are its failings?
Slightly going away from the topic, but just wondered on the failings for you?

BIB - now that is interesting as a month or so ago someone posted the complete opposite. Must admit I do not know which is correct but would like to know for sure before my sub expires
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Thanks Cas -- if I can't find anything for a year's sub in the next few days, will use that -- an almost free month is better than nothing!

And, David, have just checked -- I can still see any records I have previously looked at, its just new records I can't see

This any good, it popped up on Facebook this morning!

http://www.findmypast.co.uk/save-a-third?utm_source=croud_facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_content=33off&utm_campaign=prospecting&dclid=CMzdnYqI3M4CFYYC0wodEaAPGw

Thanks Groom but sadly small print says "applies to new subscribers only" -- so no good for me,  but might help someone else -- but only valid till 27 Aug so be quick!

Get in touch with them and ask them what they can offer you, as an existing customer.  I got quite a good deal.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
