Oh, I meant to say too that if Malcolm’s folk originate from Craignish, it says in the Birth Certificate that they are in Ayr. Malcolm SNR is a Tanner xx

I dunno how you found that, but I am very impressed and pleased to make acquaintance with a distant cousin!  ;D

I have undertaken a lot of research on Malcolm and all of his sons in the US, two of them Samuel and David served in the Union Army.  Samuel was a captain and David was a prisoner in Andersonville.

Great to get the generation back another step, thanks for posting.
