Well it looks as though you have solved this for me after all. I'm sure I looked on Familysearch for a marriage and baptism... must need better glasses!

Thank you so much  :)

There is also an image on FindMyPast, all in Latin though, the bits that I can decipher are that both Richard and Mary lived at King Street Stalybridge.

Mary's father was Jacobi Burns. Witnesses: Michael Burns and Anna Kennedy.

No occupations given.

This address has given me something to think about as I found a Richard MANNION in 1881 as a lodger - address back of 28 King Street. He was 19 and a railway labourer. There was also a James MANNION aged 35 with him.

Looking for them has proved a nightmare with the way the names have been spelled.

Something to follow up now.

Thank you

P s Michael Burns was Mary's brother

The Mannion reference sounds good - worth looking into.

Here is the baptism

Thank you for that. I'm not very good at thinking outside the box with this surname. It's not even my family... I'm doing it for my husband's friend. Hope he appreciates all the head banging I've done on those brick walls.

I really appreciate everyone's help.
