Swindon railway cottage
« on: Wednesday 31 August 16 09:47 BST (UK) »
Hi
If anyone is interested the above is open as part of the heritage open day weekend on 10-11 September with tours of the railway village.

Have wanted to see inside the cottage, furnished as it was in railway times, for years but it's never been open.  Unfortunately am away that weekend so won't be able to go but for anyone else enjoy the opportunity  :)

It does look to be in a bit of a mess, what with water damage and what looks like plaser being walked about by ignorant "builders".
I did some plumbing work there in the 80s and it was in good order then.

Yes I noticed the messy footprints.  I see from the photos there are visitor information cards on show so I wonder when they dated from?  It was several years ago when I enquired about visiting and was told not open to the public.

Here's hoping for more open days in the future.
