Can anyone do a look up of a baptism at Cleveland Archives
« on: Thursday 01 September 16 15:20 BST (UK) »
Can anyone going to Cleveland Archives spare a few minutes to look for a Baptism ?
George Edward Horseman tells us in 1901 and 1911 that he was born in about 1881/2 at Redcar.
The GRO birth index has a Robert Edward Horseman being registered 4 qtr 1881 reg:Guisborough. There is no trace of him subsequently.
The family I believe he belongs to regularly switched their fore names.
I also suspect he was illegitimate.
Could anyone visiting the archives have a quick look at Redcar Chapelry, or Marske by the Sea to see if they can spot any Hors(e)man baptisms for this period.
Alternatively has anyone got access to transcripts for either of these places.

Thanks
Sue

Did he marry?  If so - is there a fathers name on the marriage cert?

A George Edward Horsman married in Sunderland RD in 1902, but I've not got the certificate.  If he is who I think he is, I suspect the father will be blank, hence my interest in his baptism.
