Monmouthshire look ups
« on: Friday 02 September 16 13:27 BST (UK) »
Hi wonder if anyone can help.  I live the other side of the world but am looking for census information for my grandparents and great grandparents from 1929 - 1934.  They lived in 29 William street, trethomas.  I was told they were not at this address after 1929 but have just received one of my uncles birth certificate which indicated they were definitely there in 1930.  Is it possible someone could look it up and see who was resident at that address during the years mentioned above.  My grandparents names were William phillips and annie ellen phillips ( nee Thomas).  My great grandparents were also at this address in 1929.  Ellen Thomas and Thomas Thomas.  Thomas fell off the radar in 1929 I just need confirmation whether he was still showing up on the electoral roll but I know that ellen Thomas appeared in abertridwr in 1934 as I have her death certificate.  I would appreciate any help in this matter because I am such a distance away.  thank you.

The last census released to the public is the 1911 - and we aren't allowed to do lookups on that one!

The 1921 census may be released around 2021; there is no 1931 census (burnt in a fire), and no 1941 census due to WW2.

The 1939 National Register is available on FindMyPast, but again we can't do lookups (it's a copyright thing!).

I think you mean the Electoral Rolls?
Also Trethomas was in Glamorganshire, rather than Monmouthshire ;D
Although it is very, very close to the border.

But I see you have been told this before on another forum? :-\

Welcome to Rootschat!

Is that the Timothy Adams that was buried in Undy 6 June 1842 aged 86? Married 3 times in the parish of Undy - 1781, 1786 & 1789.

Haven't spotted a baptism as yet in Undy, but there was a Timothy Adams baptising children there

John bp 9 April 1751
Thomas bp 14 Nov 1752
John bp 10 Jan 1759
Anne & Hannah twins bp 9 Dec 1760
Anne bp 13 Dec 1763

so your Timothy may have been baptised in one of the neighbouring parishes that isn't online as yet. There's a marriage bond from 1748 for Timothy Adams, the possible father, and Anne Howell both of Undy.

The will of your Timothy from 1842

possible bond in the name of Benjamin Adams
