William Archibald Tomkins Chairman Leicester City F.C.

Looking for any details.
I know he was chairman of Leicester City F.C. and that he was a boot manufacturer.
His daughter I J Tompkins married Arthur Grimwade at Emanuel Union Church 1939.
Presume both have passed away.

Any info on church, or any of the people mentioned plus the name of his wife would help as I have just managed to put them on my tree but have no dates or places of birth or death.

From the marriage his daughter appears to have been a Ida J Tompkins she appears to have been born in 1912 her mother maiden name is down as Shacklock as well as her husband the appear to of both been born in Leicester.

William A Tompkins married a Ida A Shacklock in 1910 Leicester looking at the 1911 census it appears his birth year was 1885, his wife Ida 1889

Thanks for the info Lisa, I think the bride was Ida Joan. I hadn't seen that photo. I did get some info from Leicester Daily Mercury Thursday 27 April 1939. Was the photo below the one you posted of the bride and groom? If so are you able to attach it? My distant relative was the groom Arthur Geoffrey Grimwade.

I'm unsure if it is the groom or the brides father it doesn't state the photo was from the paper you stated on the same date.
