Is it just me or have they jumped the gun by a few hours?

I've been able to view the digitised images this morning, a fantastic new resource.

Some folks even viewed them yesterday   ;D .

Still working for me @ 09:59 in County Antrim.

Works for me at 12.27 England

Just found my great aunt's marriage (it was a real surprise a couple of years ago to find she'd married in Ireland).
Oooh, she did tell porkies about her father's occupation!  Gentleman!

Don't thank me - I just found gaffy's extremely useful post. But I suppose my reply pushed it up to the top of unread posts

I was in a bit of a panic to do as much as possible before this was on the News tonight (I assume it will be) or in the Newspapers and than someone would object and we would lose it again, but looking at the changes to the main page it looks like they have covered themselves against this happening.

Re: Irish Civil Records Available To View - For Free

According to Claire Santry, images available so far are:

- births: 1864 to 1915;
- marriages: 1882 to 1940;
- deaths: 1891 to 1965;

... with images of the pre-1882 marriages and pre-1891 deaths to be added to the website in due course.

Still no mention yet of a charge, even just to cover the cost, the press release (below) makes one infer that there won't be -  if that's how it turns out, then kudos and a big thank you to the Irish authorities, it's a rare phenomenon nowadays:

Edited: I added 'For Free' to the topic title, for on rereading the press release, I don't think there is any intention to charge at this point.

Very disappointed that when I search for Martin Tom Gallagher found in the Civil Registration Index born 1914 Oct/Dec Swineford no results are found
