In 1891 and 1881 Mary is a widow and William appears to be her only child

In 1911 William (William Pearson Johnstone) is living at 15 Church Street, HB so this is the correct family. In 1911 he says he is born in Lambley parish. Also note name is now Johnstone

It`s not " my " Mary Johnston, mine was born in Scotland about 1827 although there are some errors re age on previous censuses. In 1901 she was in Hawick with Agnes Black daughter and Adam Black grandson. On 1908 death cert of Agnes her mother is described as deceased but I can`t find a death for her in Scotland.

I was hoping one of the occupants might have been a child and she lived with them, but those names don`t match with the family.

Aah well that rules her out then.

As I have already typed the stuff below up I will post it as it may help others in the future.
