1881 Census Southwark
« on: Tuesday 13 September 16 16:23 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am not sure that I am on the right board, but I am  trying to trace the parents of James Herbert Offen  birth registered in the Southwark RD in 1878.

Many thanks

David ;)

The 1881 census is free to search - well, at least the Index is ... this could well be him - despite the spelling !

Household  Role   Gender   Age   Birthplace

Frank Offam    Head    M    28    Newington, Surrey, England
Agnes M Offam    Wife    F    29    Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England
Frank G Offam    Son    M    4    Newington, Surrey, England
James H Offam    Son    M    3    Newington, Surrey, England
George E Offam    Son    M    1    Camberwell, Surrey, England
William Offam    Brother    M    38    Newington, Surrey, England

Hopefully someone will find a Baptism to confirm parents ....

spelling wrong on 1881 census - heres the Marriage as OFFEN ...

Marriages Dec 1875

GILBERT  Agnes Marian     St. Saviour  1d 319
Offen  Frank     St. Saviour  1d 319

Hi Suz

Many thanks for your help. Do you have access to the 1861 census I would like to find the parents of Frank born  853 in Newington. Also as you seem to have access to the Newington records I would much appreciate if you could see if Frank's baptism is shown in the Parish Registers for 1853

God Bless

David :D
