Watson City of Dublin Steam Packet Company
« on: Wednesday 14 September 16 12:25 BST (UK) »
I noticed that a Watson family in Dublin 1749 onwards, are said to be descended from my Watson family in Bengeworth Worcestershire. Eventually my search led to four brothers-

Sir William Watson Chairman of the City of Dublin Steam Packet Company [CODSPC]
Edward Watson, who took over the CODSPC from his brother
Sir Charles Moore Watson Soldier, officer and friend of Gordon of Khartoum
Arthur John Watson Lt Col Suffolk Reg. d.1906 Boer War

Does anyone know of any descendants of this family? I believe girls from this family married into the Gascoyne-Cecil/Balders/ Monks families
Watson (Worcestershire/Herefordshire/Norfolk/Yorkshire)

Sir Charles Moore WATSON died in London in 1916

His probate was to his widow Genevieve - LINK

They are listed on the 1911 census in England - married 30 years having had no children; Genevieve was born in the United States. The 1881 census states in New York.

Reference to his knighthood details his lineage - LINK

"Bom 1844, being the second son of the late W. Watson. Esq., J. P., of Dublin, by his wife Sarah, dau. of Rev. Moore Morgan of Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow."
"Married, 1880, Genevieve (Lady of Grace of the Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in Wngland), dau. of Rev. Russell Cooice.""
