Chinnery and Powell

Hello,

I've little experience in searching Irish records and would appreciate some guidance. I have a record from the Public Record Office which records the marriage of Harriett Chinnery to Robert Powell in 1777 in the Diocese of Cork and Ross.  I'd like to know if and where I can find the church record of this marriage, and also the baptism of Harriet presumably c 1760.  I have searched Irish Genealogy without success. I have searched 4 sites and nothing for your names of Chinnery, sorry.

Hi Salt you didnt mention the denomination of your family.  There are some sources you can look at as follows:
www.corkpastandpresent.ie has Gillmans index marriages Cork & Ross your surnames are listed.
www.landedestates.ie has data on Chinnery & Powell surnames.
www.historicgraves.ie has 1 entry for a Richard Chinnery in Liscarroll Co Cork & several Powell entries in different locations.    www.ireland.anglican.org if your ancestors were not Roman Catholic Hope these may help.

Many thanks for these useful resources.  As a daughter of this couple married a CoE vicar It's likely they were Protestant.
