Am trying to locate my grandmothers 1st husband

Ernest Miller
The only information I have at present is that he married Mary Johnson In Quebec in December 1912 he died sometime between then & 1919 when she married my grandfather They also had 2 children Ernest Charles & Jessie

I have been given information from another website that an Ernest Miller was killed during the War
He was a Sgt in the 3rd Battalion Canadian pioneers

This Ernest's parents are given as Joseph& Elizabeth

I have found their Marriage cert  and the relevant death certs but they have not shown up on ANY census nor can I find any birth certs for any children However as they married & died in Dumfries I wonder if anyone could shed any light on this please ???

Married 06/09/1875

Joseph died  09/01/1919              aged  65

Elizabeth died 20/05/1941            aged 89

any help would be much appreciated

I realise a long time has passed since you raised this enquiry; however I am a descendant of Edward Kerr Miller son of Joseph and brother of the Ernest in the census extract below; and stumbled on this a couple of days ago when working on my line.  My family have done a fair bit of research on our line, and - from your point of view - I'm sorry, but our understanding is that our Ernest never married.  He was killed in action at Hooge Belgium, when serving as a Sgt in the 3rd Canadian Pioneer Battalion.  Of course if you have found any other information to contradict this I woudl be very keen to know.
