John and Jemima Cox
« on: Saturday 24 September 16 21:36 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for the names of the children of John and Jemima Cox (nee Nail & variants) who were born in Victoria between 1853 and 1865. I have downloaded Jemima's death cert.hoping that this would give me the children's names but the list of children's names is almost illegible. I can guess that some of the names are ones that I have but there are a some that I can't read.
Does anyone know the names of all their children. The 3 eldest were born in England before 1852.

Eric
Beeston, Whithead & Towle
Allesley, Bloxham from c. 1815
Foleshill, Gee (Jee) Adams Millerchip
Burton Dassett, Bloxham to c. 1815

These in Victoria

COX John
Father John
Mother Jemimia NALE
Birth Place CWOOD
Year 1856
Reg 260

COX Frances
Father John
Mother Jemima NAL
RICH
Year 1860
Reg 18596

COX Mary
Father John
Mother Jemima NAL
Birth Place RICH
Year 1862
Reg   4602

Where did you get the date 1865 as the last child?

If you were to purchase and download the birth certificate of Mary, the child born in 1862, it will list previous  issue.

If you have their immigration details that may list the children, (perhaps around 1852 you seem to think?)
An English census prior to immigration may help with names too.

The death mentioned by Rosie however according to my resource, this woman was 34 years of age ie born c1843.  Their dau, according to the ages on the passenger list, was born c1851.
There is always the possibility of a mistranscription of her age to the index.

This notice states that Frances was the fifth daughter so possibly another dau born after their arrival and before the commencement of civil reg in Jul 1853.  The death reg for Alice with father John, is a parish record which has been transcribed to the Vic Registry.
