I noticed in an ‘old’ tree online that Alice Sarah LLEWELLYN who died at Sunbury in 22 March 1922 at the age of 59 was the daughter of John and Jemima COX.
However, the LLEWELLYN researcher had the birth date for Alice COX as 10 Oct 1851 ???

NOW......I wonder if Alice born 1851 at Kidderminster was the 2y.o. who died in 1853 reg #21604, recorded at St Marks C of E, Collingwood.

AND....... was there a ‘second’ Alice born c1863 at Richmond which was the birthplace recorded in the VIC marriage index for Alice COX to William LLEWELLYN, reg #1230.
So did the researcher have the actual marriage certificate to know the parents names? The place of marriage stated it was at Albert Park on 22 March 1889.

OR......a wrong age recorded when Alice died in 1922?

Jane, Emma, Elizabeth, Alice, John, Fanny and Mary...so there is one more. Can you snip that part of the certificate, save and post as an attachment

I notice that she is recorded as Sarah Alice as well SO is this missing child born in Richmond whose birth has not been registered.

COX Alice Sarah born Richmond
LLEWELLYN Wm born Mt Moliagul
1889  Reg#1230

His birth - he was younger.

LLEWELYN William
Father Thomas   Mother Martha RAAS
At MOLI = Mt Moliagul   1865 Reg#14997

This birth cert may help as it would record all issue living and deceased.

COX Mary
Father John
Mother Jemima NAL

Year 1862

I agree Essie, I think this Alice Sarah was born Richmond not Kidderminster.  Possibly the researcher of the tree hasn't noticed the death in Collingwood.  Where did you find the tree Essie?

Alice's death certificate would be no help as she died at Sunbury with no parents recorded.  Inquests were routine for all deaths in public institutions so she probably died at the Asylum.  The Inquest Index has her cause of death as malignant disease lungs.

Eric could you please post the names of the children as written on the death certificate.  They are usually in order of age starting with the eldest.

Cheers

The father John's death cert would be of no use either.  He died in Yarra Bend Asylum noted as Yarra Bend LA on death index, and information is usually scant on death certs of those who died in public institutions in that era.

Inquest Index
COX John
At Yarra Bend
1899  Ref#1104
No cause noted on index.

This look likes Alice Sarah's husband
Death
LLEWELLYN William
Father Thomas  Mother Martha REES
At Brighton  68 years  1934  Reg#3714

Excellent find, Essie - as already asked a reference for the source for this would be great.

Cando, Eric said he could not read the names of the children so a snip of the relevant part would be great.  Or perhaps, now he knows what he is looking for the names may be easier to make out.

I asked for a snip but perhaps Eric missed that request :).  I thought it easier for him to post the names of those he has identified but in order noting the illegible ones.

Alice and William were enlisted to vote at Brighton, Newmarket and Traralgon.  William was an engine driver/railway employee.  Wm is eventually back at his Carpenter Street, Brighton address prior to his death.

Cheers  :)

Essie is that WorldConnect?  If so it won't load for me.  I haven't been able to access WorldConnect for ages.  I wonder why :-\
