tracking down Stapleford warhero Sgt A.D.Hall
« on: Sunday 25 September 16 15:53 BST (UK) »
In 2004 we erected a warmemorial at Netersel in remembrance of an aircrew who where killed in an crash with a 149 sqdn Stirling bomber BK703 in the night of 29th June 1943. This with the attendance of crew relatives who unveiled the memorial. Sadly I got no luck to track down other crew relatives among them 24 year old Sgt Alfred Douglas Hall who was an airgunner on this crew and aircraft. His servicenumber was 957304 and was the son of John and Hannah Hall, of Stapleford,Nottinghamshire. Sgt Hall and F/Sgt C.V.Howden shared one grave. In the meantime i got in touch with the family of Charlie Howden. We do hope that we get succesfull this time to tracking down Sgt A.D.Hall's relatives with your help.

Thank you so much,

I was tentative in suggesting it, as I could not see a marriage for John Hall and Hannah Wright, but this could be it:

Marriages March quarter 1917
Jack Hall    Basford    7b   316
Hannah Wright    Basford    7b   316

There are many Hall/Wright births in Basford, but also other Hall/Wright marriages there (and throughout the county) so difficult to identify siblings.

On the 1939 index there shows a John Hall and a Hannah Hall, both in Beeston and Stapleford U. D.  Both have a birth year of 1895.  This may help narrow them down to find potential cousins of ADH.
