Richard and Harriot Price
« on: Tuesday 27 September 16 08:27 BST (UK) »
I have put several messages regarding the Price family with your help have resolved quite a few brick walls, http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=751402.msg5996984#msg5996984

My latest mystery is which I hope someone can help is:

In 1808 Harriot Banks born 1789 (c) Ludlow, married Richard Price in Ashford Carbonell Shropshire. Harriot's parents were Edward and Eleanor Banks.

I cannot find any record of when Richard was born, according to ancestry Richard died in 1864. Would like to know who his parents are plus when he was born.

Any help would be appreciated.

Helina

If he died in 1864 he should be on census 1851/1861 - what age and birthplace does he have there or is it N/K?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

It wasn't Richard that died in 1864 - it was his wife Harriet.

An online tree states Richard Price was buried 17/2/1839 - bc.1785 - Ludlow, Shropshire - original burial record shows his address as Corve Street.

In 1841 at Corve Street, Ludlow is Harriet with 4 children so all ties up.

There are various possibilities for the baptism of a Richard Price ca.1785 Shropshire - however, since the family ended up living in Ludlow I would suggest the Richard Pryce bp.22/7/1784 Ludlow, son of Richard and Mary is probably the correct one.
