Forde and O Regan families Ballingcollig and Cork City
« on: Tuesday 27 September 16 13:00 BST (UK) »
Hi Im off to Cork City on Monday, really excited as I have never been before. I am interested in trying to find anybody else who is researching the Fordes who orginated in Ballincollig but then moved to Cork City in the early 1900s. My Great Grandmother, Ellen O'Regan appears on the 1911 census in Millerd Street with her parents John and Hannah O'Regan, sister Mary/Molly O'Sullivan aged 18. My Nan was born in Henry Street in 1916 , she would have been 100 years old next month. I know her Sister, Sheila Forde ran a pub in Patrick Street , Cork City unsure ofwhich one, would love to know where they were buried so I can pay my respects.

Birth of Mary SULLIVAN on May 5 1902 - LINK
Shows she was born at 6 Ropewalk, Sunday's Well, Cork
Father Michael SULLIVAN deceased labourer
Mother Mary SULLIVAN formerly REGAN address 9 Millerd Street

Mary O'REGAN married Michael SULLIVAN on May 11 1898 in Cork - LINK

I cannot see a birth for John O'Sullivan but it is a common name

Hannah was consistent on the census returns 58 in 1911 and 48 in 1901
This would make her 39 in 1892 when Ellen was born

I think Hannah O'REGAN died on May 14 1937 - this death was at 32 Henry Street - LINK
and John O'REGAN died on Aug 24 1933 - also at 32 Henry Street - LINK
