Assume the un-named child to be Thomas.....
..... as I've found a William Webb born 1787 Luton, Beds, widower, with son Joseph age 23 & grand-daughter Alice age 10 months, also living in Redbourne Herts on 1851 census.

Hello Guys

Sorry ive not been here , caught up with work etc .... Your comments have been fantastic

This lady Alice has been a real pain and living so far away from Beds RO its awkward for me , I have Alice on all census records last seeing her in 1861 with daughter and son in law William Dollimore in St Albans then she disappears from there ,

SO all i have on this lady is her marriage to John Skinner , then all the census records , nothing on the start or end of her life :(

I am so grateful that you all took the time to look at this lady for me

Thankyou

Chelle

The one detail that hasn't been found, which might help confirm our suspicions, is the witnesses at Alice's marriage to John Skinner. Have you seen the marriage entry?

You could contact Hertfordshire Archives & pay them £10 for detail from the marriage register.

The marriage at Redbourn on 22 Feb 1811 appears on the Herts Names Online database

Website says ... Items can be viewed for free in person at Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies.

If you cannot get there yourself  (it might cost more than £10 to do so) suggest you post look up request on the Hertfordshire page.

Just reading back over this thread, and the import of John's post #10 had escaped me. If, as we suspect, Alice and William of Leagrave were siblings, then both married in Redbourn and lived thereafter in Redbourn. More circumstantial evidence! Sorry I was a bit slow picking that up! William married in 1809 and Alice in 1811. Wouldn't surprise me if we find that William was one of the witnesses at Alice's marriage.

I'd also check the witnesses at William's 1809 marriage to Rhodia Freeman to see if Alice was a witness.
